Lacey Act & chain of custody

US importers of wood and furniture need species, harvest country and due-care documentation under the Lacey Act (including PPQ 505 declarations). The same Indonesia field dataset we build for EUDR can support that file — with species and chain-of-custody made explicit.

On request

What's included

  • Species identification support as declared by the mill/workshop and checked against available documents
  • Harvest-country and (where the supplier can show it) harvest-area notes
  • Chain-of-custody outline from plot or mill through processor to shipment
  • Due-care evidence support: what was requested, what was obtained, what remains open
  • Alignment with EUDR plot/legality work when you sell into both markets

Deliverables

  • Species and harvest-country table suitable for a Lacey declaration file
  • Chain-of-custody sketch with named entities
  • Indexed supporting documents
  • Gaps memo — you remain the importer of record

Process

  1. 1

    Product list

Which SKUs, species and factories are in the first US shipment.

  2. 2

    Field & document work

Collect mill papers, species claims, transport and processing steps in Indonesia.

  3. 3

    CoC outline

Write the chain so a US compliance colleague can see who handled the wood.

  4. 4

    Hand-over

Pack plus gaps. Your broker or counsel files PPQ 505; we do not.

Typical timelines

Often 2–4 weeks alongside an EUDR pilot on the same supplier. Standalone Lacey files depend on how complete mill paperwork already is.

Who it's for

  • US furniture and millwork importers sourcing in Indonesia
  • EU buyers who also ship a portion of the same production to the US
  • Teams that want one Indonesia field dataset for both Lacey due care and EUDR preparation

Per-commodity notes

Wood, teak & furniture

Core use case. Species (including teak vs mixed tropical hardwoods), harvest country, and whether the workshop is the mill or a downstream maker all have to be explicit.

Other EUDR commodities

Lacey is a plant-and-wood statute. Coffee, cocoa, rubber and palm are not sold here as Lacey services; use EUDR and commercial modules instead.

How engagement works

Usually scoped per supplier and product family, often combined with the EUDR full supplier package. Standalone Lacey support is quoted after we see existing mill paperwork.

Pricing approach

Standalone Lacey support

Quoted after scope — depends on species mix and how complete mill documents already are.

Combined with EUDR full supplier package

From €3,500 for all plots of one supplier, including EUDR + Lacey-ready data where the commodity is wood.

Introductory “from” prices. The final fee is set after a written scope. Travel outside the Lombok, Bali and Java metro areas is billed separately. Not a binding offer.

FAQ

What about the US Lacey Act?

Importers need species, harvest country and due-care documentation. The same field dataset can support Lacey filings alongside EUDR preparation.

Do you file PPQ 505 for us?

No. We assemble supporting evidence from Indonesia. The importer of record (and their broker) files the declaration.

Can this be combined with EUDR?

Yes. A full supplier package is designed so plot, legality and species data serve both files.
